When the first trailer for the original Dead Island game was released it was a hit, sucking up views like a vacuum and then when the game was released it as well sold many copies becoming a unique 4 player co-op zombie shooter hit. The debut trailer for the next game, entitled Dead Island Riptide can be seen above and is as abstract, artistic as well as emotional as the first trailer for the original game. It may even bring a tear to your eye, but more importantly builds upon the hype of the second game. The trailer is an excellent piece of CGI, while the game is once again being published by Deep Silver and developed by Techland. Dead Island Riptide will allow character continuation from the first title, while it will be released some time in 2013 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
Not only can you import your characters from the first game but it has been given an updated weather system. This will include flooding to make survival and action even bigger. You will have to take boat rides through zombie infested rivers and deal with forts that need to be reinforced or barricaded. Riptide takes place on a different Island this time around but in the same general vicinity (on the same archipelago as the first title). Click to enlarge the wallpaper above.
