Games That Get You The Most Value for the Buck

As you all know, video games are an expensive hobby. Fishing out over $60.oo for a new game that you may or may not like can feel like a huge gamble. This is especially true for those gamers who are on a strict budget and I know that is a lot of people including myself. It’s also frustrating to purchase a game, take it home and beat it within 6 hours (Or even in one night for some) and consider that purchase as money well spent. You’re not getting nearly as much value out of that game as you want to. With no new blockbuster games coming out for a while, what games could you play to fill the gap? Well have no fear because here are few game that will really stretch your dollar as far as it can go.

Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel ($47.99/12 hours = 4 Dollars per hour)

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance ($44.99/12 hours = $3.75 Dolars per hour)

  1. Crackdown was awesome and 2 too. Hope MS releases a next gen version.

  2. Given that I rarely take the time to finish any game that isn’t an indie one, it’s irrelevant to me which might provide the best ‘value for money’. If anything, I prefer my games to bee relatively short. Anything over 25 hours is certainly overkill for me.

Oh and since these are all FREE, or have been free, on Playstation Plus I think you’ll find that they are the best value for money. And no matter what their length surely it matters more to fell a compulsion to come back to a game, giving more and more gaming hours, no matter how short it is, like Motorstorm Apocalypse, than the intrinsic length of the game. Plus what percentage you would give the game in a review is one of the most significant affecters of its value for money to you. I can feel slightly ripped off of mere time if I a critically acclaimed game is free but I don’t like it.

So overall this article is pointless. It’s like having an article saying that a supermarket offers more value for money than an art gallery because the supermarket might give you longer to look at their produce.

    Free Playstation Plus games:

    Bioshock 2
    Infamous series
    Various Assassin Creeds
    Motorstorm Apocalypse

    • PlayStation Plus costs 49.99 a year… which means the games you listed above are not FREE. In fact once you stop paying for PlayStation Plus you do not KEEP the games in your collection. So if by FREE you mean renting, then ya PS Plus is a good value. However, do you OWN the games you have in your collection… no you don’t. That is like saying I own all the movies on my Netflix Instant Stream.

    • To make it more frank. I would rather eat my fish and chips and say I ate it for dinner. Then lick the fish and chips and said I had it for dinner.
