Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch hit PS3’s by storm and showed gamers that JRPG’s aren’t dead quite yet. With Ni No Kuni’s success perhaps Bandai Namco is willing to bring the title to other consoles like the Wii U or the Xbox 360. Oddly enough the an Executive Producer at Bandai Namco was quoted saying.
his company wasn’t opposed to releasing the Award-winning PlayStation 3 RPG for the Nintendo 3DS.”
Originally a 3DS title Ni No Kuni: the Sorcerer of Darkness was released on December 9th, 2010 in Japan. Perhaps the company has been working on the 3DS title for the states in secret or perhaps they wanted to see how well the White Witch would do on the PS3.
Critical acclaim from Famitsu, one of the beloved respected magazines from Japan gave the 3DS title a 38/40. An excerpt from the weekly magazine states.
The animation, music, and story all combine together at a high level to keep the player constantly excited. The way the game links up with the book is innovative, and there’s a lot of backdrop that allows you to understand the story on a deep level”
Let’s hope that Bandai Namco hear our cries for Ni No Kuni: the Sorcerer of Darkness. Until then we will have sulk with this trailer for the 3DS title, which originally released at the Toyko Game Show in 2010.
