Darksiders, other THQ properties to go up for auction

THQ, the bankrupt company which owned Darksiders, has one final task to complete before it disappears for good. The company will auction off its remaining asset in a court-approved sales process set to begin on the 15th of April.

In total, there are six different packages being offered. Properties produced internally will be available in one package, while licensed titles will be offered in another. The new owner will be responsible for all costs associated with licensed products. Additionally, Homeworld, MX, Red Faction, and Darksiders will be up for auction as individual properties.

Those fortunate enough to pick up the bundles will take over all profits and costs from back catalogue sales. Also, some will have the right to develop the properties further. With more than 100 expressions of interest received for various properties, a successful sell is expected.

Last month, most of THQ’s properties and in-development titles were sold with the exception of Vigil’s Darksiders property. Despite many Vigil employees joining Crytek, the company isn’t interested the series leaving the title’s fate up in the air.
