Rayman Legends is No Longer a Wii U Exclusive

As players formerly thought the upcoming Rayman Legends game was going to be released exclusively for the Wii U system, it has now been confirmed for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. All versions of the game will be releasing on the same day. Rayman Legends will be available for purchase starting in September of 2013.

Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier which is the same team that has worked on the game for Nintendo’s Wii U system. This game has gotten generally good feedback so far for its fun atmosphere and great integration with music. Being one of the most anticipated platformers of the year, a lot of players will be happy to know that they won’t have to purchase a Wii U to play Rayman Legends.

A statement by the senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft said, “We heard from many Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system. We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.”

This is great news for Rayman fans, of course, but what does that mean about the Wii U system compared to current-gen consoles?
