Watch out Bethesda! A new challenger has entered the open world RPG arena. CD Projekt RED has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the final entry in the series and the last part of the story of the tale of Geralt of Rivia. Though this will be the end of Geralt’s story, it doesn’t mean that the studio is out of ideas. According to Studio Head, Adam Badowski the time has come “to look to new worlds and new horizons to keep pushing the boundaries of what [they] can create.”
The game will be released, simultaneously, on all high-end platforms in 2014. It will feature an updated combat system that will lack Quick Time Events. Thus, allowing players to truly feel like a monster-hunter, surviving on their fighting skills and senses alone. According to Badowski, the new title will be 30 times larger than that of its predecessor.
To celebrate the announcement of the final title, the developers put The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition on a 50% off sale on GOG.com and Steam through today. Additionally, The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition on Xbox 360 received a permanent decrease in price to 29.99 USD/EUR or GBP 19,99.
