For those unaware, Steam isn’t the “only” PC video game digital distribution service out there. GoG or Good old Games is an up and coming service hosted by none other than CD Project Red, the talent behind The Witcher and its sequel. GoG has prided themselves over the past years on their excellent customer service, complete avoidance of DRM, fair prices, and exclusive content bundled with every purchase. GoG was originally designed to be a digital distribution service for older PC games such as Planescape: Torment, Fallout, and Baldur’s Gate, all prepackaged and optimized for modern computers.
A little over a year ago GoG announced that alongside hosting older titles, they would begin to offer newer ones. To celebrate the addition of a 500th game to their library, GoG has announced a week long contest where anyone can enter for a change to receive one of 500 games being given away. So if you’re a fan of the classics and or just like free stuff, head on over to the contest page and follow the provided instructions.
Oh, and while you’re there check out their game library, they’ve got some excellent selections. If you haven’t played Deus Ex or the original Fallout, you’d be doing yourself a favor if you picked them up!
