Up close and personal. Not just in DMC but in most games I play. I like to feel the hits!

  2. David Brown January 5, 2013 at 7:40 pm - Reply

    I’m both

  3. Juan Sanchez January 5, 2013 at 9:32 pm - Reply

I’ll take advantage of both, long range / pistol and up close with the sword / melee! You never know which you’ll be needing next ;)

  4. Gram January 6, 2013 at 8:47 am - Reply

I like to mix it up with both. It seemed to work really well for me in the demo.

  5. Pusha T January 6, 2013 at 9:17 am - Reply

Getting up close is more fun in my opinion.

  6. Leo January 6, 2013 at 9:55 am - Reply

I’m prefer to use both types, rangered and melee to make them fill all types of pain.

  7. Chris Bevins January 6, 2013 at 10:16 am - Reply

I like to utilize both methods, but primarily up close and personal. Nothing like and upper cut and then unloading a clip before they hit the ground.

  8. Tim January 6, 2013 at 10:40 am - Reply

Up close and personal. Shooting at a distance is for cowards.

  9. Austin Baroudi January 6, 2013 at 10:41 am - Reply

I like to mix it them up a bit, but I usually tend to favour up close and personal melee style attacks.

  10. Brian Strieker January 6, 2013 at 10:57 am - Reply

I have always had a liking towards long range gunslinging. Using all of Dante’s fancy attacks with his guns has always been badass imo!

  11. Alex January 6, 2013 at 11:06 am - Reply

I much prefer to use long range attacks, though his melee attacks are still pretty damn cool.

  12. lyceaos January 6, 2013 at 11:45 am - Reply

dude ive been mostly a melee player always i only use a gun when absolutely needed otherwise just let me get at them. espceially when i get my paws on the hand to hand weapon like the gleam gauntlet in dmc3 or the gleamshine in dmc4 then i really get the combo out on their demon tails. i just really wanna win this to see if the game is worth recomending to anyone. i mean a reboot done by someone elase than (please excuse the spelling im bad with remembering name spellings) hadeki kamiya. i mean he is the genius behind the series and they keep cutting him out of it

They actually are working closely with one of the directors for the DMC2-4 to make the game right. Look up the Tameem Antoniades Dev Talk. It’s a good look into how the game was started and made behind the scenes.

my entire family is both – we live both the long range and the upclose and personal. LOL There’s just something satisfying about being able to take out your agression on a video game villian up close and personal but at times playing sniper is just as satisfying.

  14. M.R. January 6, 2013 at 1:12 pm - Reply

I always used both before, but I can’t help getting in there and slashing peeps up more often.

  15. Alen January 6, 2013 at 1:40 pm - Reply

    Melee FTW!!

  16. Bloodshed113094 January 6, 2013 at 4:11 pm - Reply

I start with the holding Y blade laser to utterly humiliate my opponents. I follow up by pecking at enemies from far away with my pistols to annoy them and wait for them to charge me. I finish with an array of up close attacks, occasionally dashing away from one enemy to another so everyone (sometimes even me) gets confused, and add aerial combos using bullet rise and bullet fall to spice things up. You can never be TO stylish.

  17. Joel January 6, 2013 at 7:44 pm - Reply

I prefer long ranged myself, but often I’ll go back and forth, depending on the situation.

  18. Urban January 6, 2013 at 11:45 pm - Reply

I usually just use melee and completely destroy every demon in my path but every now and then I’ll throw in some long ranged. Really it just depends on the situation.

    I’m up close. Fuck guns

  20. DrPixel January 7, 2013 at 12:00 am - Reply

I like long range best but if it gets up close and personal…..well, I also love slicing my foes up! So both! :D

    Thanks!

    up close and personal. Katanarama!

  22. Subject Zero January 7, 2013 at 3:20 am - Reply

Up close and personal, shotguns & knives.

  23. Tomas January 7, 2013 at 6:07 am - Reply

I prefer to use both. Different situations call for different techniques.

  24. Byron Dunlap January 8, 2013 at 12:24 am - Reply

    Both, the more the better.

  25. Miguel Luna January 8, 2013 at 2:18 am - Reply

    Up close!
    Far range is for wimps!

  26. Josh Bolton January 8, 2013 at 11:08 am - Reply

    Swords & postal worker!… I mean Pistol.

  27. Joseph Martin January 8, 2013 at 8:24 pm - Reply

I have always preferred up close and personal combat, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. That’s why I love the new grapple weapons in the game.

  28. Stephen N. January 9, 2013 at 3:08 am - Reply

I am a long range/pistol type of player. Sure there are some downsides to guns (i.e. running out of ammo) but I would rather take out the enemy before they have a chance to take me out.

  29. ShawnS January 9, 2013 at 4:17 am - Reply

Guns for show. Swords for pro. Meh, I guess I’m a melee type of player.

  30. Diana January 9, 2013 at 7:34 am - Reply

I like sword best, I have more fun doing combos and throwing my enemies up in the air and then slamming them back down then just shoting them. :P

    YY, LT + YYY, RT + B, shoot shoot, jump, YY, LT + B, YY, Y, RT + B, RT + X, B

My “go-to” to start out my combos. Try it out. Guaranteed S rank at least. This demo is better than any full retail title I bought in 2012. All haters need to be strung up by their butt hairs from the nearest overpass. Lord knows they’re durable enough from all the Pantene Pro V they use down there to make the smell of their own farts that much more enjoyable.

    Buy.
    The.
    Game.

Ninja Theory is long overdue for a financial success.

I prefer both, though I love every game that has dual wield handguns! <3

  33. Nicole January 10, 2013 at 11:23 am - Reply

    Melee all the way!

  34. JT January 11, 2013 at 4:34 am - Reply

Melee because it’s a more enjoyable experience.

  35. Joshua January 11, 2013 at 6:40 am - Reply

I rely on my sword mostly, I love trying my best to get in some spectacular S-ranked combos with Rebellion, especially in dmc3 on Hyper Mode, of course I always appreciate having Ebony and Ivory to fall back on when I need to re-orient myself, haha. Hoping there will be a Cerberus-like weapon in DmC.

  36. Jesse January 11, 2013 at 5:46 pm - Reply

I love to get in there with a sword and finish off with the pistols

  37. John dear January 12, 2013 at 1:26 am - Reply

    Sword & pistal

  38. Adnan January 12, 2013 at 8:09 am - Reply

I play in both styles, upclose, long range and onslaught given the situation.

  40. luis izaguirre January 12, 2013 at 4:14 pm - Reply

well i enjoy both styles because i love to shoot from far away as im running up to the enemy and before i get there he is already injured and all i have to do i do some fancy moves and bam he dead.. its fun as hell when its up close and personal…

  41. Rene Hernandez January 13, 2013 at 3:20 am - Reply

Always best to mix it up depending on the situation and that is what i do!

  42. Subject Zero January 13, 2013 at 6:05 pm - Reply

UP CLOSE, head shot with shotgun, throat slit by blade.

  44. Gordon January 15, 2013 at 6:28 pm - Reply

upclose and personal when i want to see beautiful graphics and animations. distant when i want to run the game in low graphics. but both are beautiful on my tower.

  45. Joshua Larkins February 4, 2013 at 4:21 pm - Reply

I start off with light melee to stop their movements.. go into heavy to knock them off their feet then usually send them flying in the air and finish them off with pistols before they hit the ground.. I call that a bad day to be a demon! Love the gameplay btw..

  46. Durkle February 12, 2013 at 10:01 pm - Reply

I am an upclose and personal player, slash them demons up!

  47. Matt February 12, 2013 at 10:24 pm - Reply

I kill stuff… with style… and weapon, no discrimination… not much more to say really. So uh, that’s it I guess…

  48. Qwicksilv3r February 27, 2013 at 3:46 pm - Reply

I like to kill pixelated things. With Swords, With Guns, Bombs, Zombies, Chainsaws, Stepping on them, using fire flowers. No Fucks are given, when I kill enemies… #Bastard
