Earlier this year Valve announced that it would start carrying software titles. Today marks the official release of the first software titles for Steam.
Titles Released Today:
- CameraBag 2
- 3DMark Vantage
- 3D Mark 11
- ArtRage Studio Pro
- 3D-Coat
- Gamemaker: Studio
The software titles all come with the ability to earn achievements and ability to upload your creations to the Steam workshop to share with anyone else on Steam. The move by Valve comes as no surprise, since Windows 8 will ship with the feature of a Microsoft marketplace to purchase software and games. Gabe Newell, owner of Valve and Steam, has also recently bashed Windows 8 by saying, “I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space.” Only time will tell what Valve will does next, Maybe a Steam computer?
