The first real piece of single player downloadable content for Mass Effect 3 (aside from the free ‘Extended Cut‘ edited ending content) is about to be released tomorrow, August 28th, (Playstation 3 users in the UK will get it on the 29th). The DLC is an additional story quest that takes place early on in the game well before the ending, where you must search for a weapon that is supposed to be able to kill Reapers. After a scientist on the Citadel is killed who was researching the mystery weapon and the killer was a lab partner who showed signs of indoctrination, Shepard then begins to look for answers as well as finding this weapon.
Although the small info seems a bit bland check out the trailer below to see what it is all about. It has also been mentioned that it will be a lot more than just a simple mission with it actually being able to slightly alter the ending of the game. There will also be new locations in the game such as an under water area as well as some of the gameplay becoming more difficult in a creative fashion. You will be able to purchase the ‘Leviathan’ DLC for Mass Effect 3 on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network for 800 Microsoft Points or $10.00 – A small price to pay for all the free DLC packs that have been released since launch.
