The Legend of Dragoon Trademark was Renewed, Sequel Much?

The Legend of Dragoon trademark was renewed on 6/4/12, leading many to speculate that there may be a sequel or prequel in the works. The game was released in North America on June 11, 2000 on the Playstation. Despite its mixed critical reception, the game has amassed a huge fanbase. The game has several online petitions for a remake, sequel or prequel which isn’t too far-fetched considering the amount of games that have been dug up from gaming’s past and given the royal treatment.  Clearly, the title hasn’t been completely abandoned by Sony as it was released on the Playstation Network in North America in May.

The Legend of Dragoon featured a unique combat system that rewarded players with powerful combos for precision. Similarly, the game had attack items whose strength could be increased by pressing the attack button quickly to ramp up the damage. Innovations such as these—along with the incredible story of love, war, betrayal, and friendship—have made the game unforgettable among its fans.

The news comes after it was revealed that a sequel to the game was in development at Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan, but was later cancelled for unknown reasons. Perhaps now we have something to get excited about.
