According to a 2K insider the production of Mafia III is in full swing and set to be released on thenext-gen Xbox. It has been confirmed that at 2K Czech, Mafia III is currently in the running to be a launch title for these much anticipated next-gen consoles.
Although the aim is to get this title out at the release of the next wave of consoles it seems highly unlikely that this open-world gangster game will end up making the cut. As 2K Czech is trying to fill in many positions at their studio for the next “AAA” release they are also trying to set Mafia III to be released in either the year 2013 or 2014. With that being said the release of the next-gen consoles might not be that soon; something we should all bear in mind.
If these rumors are indeed proved to be true that would also mean that a new Xbox is in the mix for a late 2013 release; seems highly unlikely that would be correct without hearing an official announcement yet, but ‘never say never’. As these are still rumors nothing is completely confirmed so don’t set your heart on it. There has been no news set in stone about next-gen consoles just a lot of rumors.
