21st Street Games has launched a Kickstarter project to fund the follow-up to their hit indie title, Techno Kitten Adventure. According to the company’s Kickstarter page, “Beyond the original development team, there isn’t much support to continue the series due to budget constraints, shifting agendas and general creative differences.” With that said, the developers have left the fate of the series in the hands of the fans.
The sequel, Super Techno Kitten Adventure, will feature a new soundtrack with at least 10 new songs from a mix of happy hardcore, gabber, j-core, and more. It will also have 10 new 3D worlds along with 3D models of the kittens. In addition to this, you will be able to create your own custom kitten from 27,000 possible outfit combinations. The possibilities range from butterfly wings to tridents and everything in-between. You will have the ability to unlock new outfits and accessories by playing through levels with each of the characters.
Super Techno Kitten Adventure is being developed for PC and Mac. However, if the developers get enough support they will also launch it on Xbox Arcade (pending approval from Microsoft) and Android. They are also planning to add multiplayer and co-op modes.
The goal for the project is $100,000; but if they reach their stretch goal of $500,000 they will add even more levels, music, kittens, and outfits. There are also some pretty sweet rewards for those that back the project. Rewards range from getting a copy of the game to actually working with the art team to develop your own kitten.
