Does the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Villain Trailer Plot Woods as the Enemy?

Call of Duty Black Ops II

Today Activision and Treyarch have released a new trailer for upcoming game, Call of Duty Black Ops II. This trailer reveals a new character named Raul Menendez and his evil plot to destroy the world by hacking and steeling US technology. The trailer shows how the United States citizens idolize this man who is willing to do whatever it takes to wipe them out. At one point in this trailer this new villain is face to face with former hero Sgt. Frank Woods, a retired United States Marine. After comparing the Reveal trailer to the Villain trailer and witnessing the affable behavior between the two characters it’s a wonder if the player will be fighting against former hero, Frank Woods?

After watching the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, it is noticed that the retired hero, Frank Woods, is extremely upset by the advancing technology. He is obviously for the power of men; not machine. Before Woods is approached by Raul in the Villain trailer the narrator asks the view, “Where the hell is he?” and it cuts to a scene where Woods is approached by the games obvious main antagonist. The two seem almost friendly to one another and when antagonist, Raul Menendez, comes toward Woods and states, “Now it begins.” This makes the viewer wonder if Woods is now taking order from Raul Menendez and if he to will be a villain in Call of Duty Black Ops II. Below are the two trailers released for the game, the Reveal trailer and the Villain trailer for your comparison.

Do you think the speculation of Woods being a villain himself is true or do you think he was a defenseless old man caught up in a situation that may lead him to be killed? Share your thoughts about this conflict in the comment box below!
