E3 2012: Break-Down of the EA press Conference

EA 2012

EA’s press conference was held today and they had some of the hottest titles out there to show to their fans. There were over ten games shown at this conference and all left the audience in awe. We decided to break down some of these titles for our readers and point out what we think looks great about the games. In case you didn’t catch the conference it here is a list of the EA titles you may have missed and what was good and bad about what we say. EA has made it clear that gaming has progressed to more than just a game, it is an environment that players jump right into; games are no longer just a thing to buy but they are a place players go to escape their regular lives. GamersBliss.com will be all over the showroom floor at E3 2012 so if you have any questions about any games that are being shown please leave a comment in the box below so that we can get them answered for you.

Dead Space 3:

Dead Space 3 is coming in February of 2013. It seems as if Issac Clarke is falling deeper into insanity. The demo shown at the EA press conference was energetic and dramatic. With a new co-op feature being integrated into the game it seems as though new kinds of necramorphs are going to be haunting your nightmares. This cooperative feature will function on a drop-in drop-out basis, which will make it easy to hope straight into a friend’s game with no hassle. Also we should be aware that the competitive multiplayer aspect of the game has been scrapped. While this game seems to creep your mom out we hope that this is not the end of the Issac Clarke legacy.

Madden 13:

Not only is Megatron going to be on the cover, but EA games is going to introduce what seems to be some kind RPG element into Madden 13 which allows the player to grow individually. Madden took in the infinity engine which is a whole lot for the game. This engine gives players countless game play options to where every time they play an individual game it looks and feels different. IF the player gets nicked in the arm or falls wrong on his leg, that damage will affect the way the character performs throughout the game. So, what else does Madden 13 integrate… SOCIAL MEDIA… zzzz. Well, as the social media networks grow in our lives while we are getting drunk or having kids. Now it seems as if social media has grown and infected our game consoles. The social media theory was made apparent with games like MW3 as well when we found the networks on our console dashboards. Of course, this is only to help create competition and the ability to network with other players playing Madden.

SimCity:

The Sims are back but this time they are populating the massive metropolis cities you create in a new PC title as well as a new SimCity game called SimCity Social that people will be able to play on Facebook. The new SimCity PC title has a new multiplayer element included with SimCity and distinct city growth and personas that vary with each city. You will naturally be building skyscrapers in no time. However, not only do the actions in your city affect the Sims in your city, but they affect the ones in the other players around your city as well. Imagine if you will a whole planet of Sims that is connected and all the masses that make up the game. PC gamers beware this game is being built for a February 2013 release.

Battlefield 3:

Battlefield 3 is the biggest game in EA’s history so naturally there were more details released about the game. There was news that a new service was going to be purchasable by Battlefield 3 players called Premium. The new service includes “hundreds of hours of new game play”. In this service players will see previously released Back to Karkland maps, Close Quarters, Armored Mill, Aftermath, and End Game (which have yet to be released). This service will cost players $49.99 and is available for purchase today. Not only will the service offer the expansion packs listed above but players will also get their hands on 20 new weapons, 10 vehicles and a slew of new dog tags. With that being said, it seems that COD fans and Battlefield fans alike will have something else to argue about in the forums found on the internet…. just great… in other words Battlefield 3 is getting its very own elite service.

Star Wars The Old Republic:

Star Wars: The Old Republic has quickly found the force. As another title to be in direct competition to the Activision line up. We are recapped on what kind of updates for the title as well as a “sneak peek” on what is to come from the people from Bioware for their MMO gem. Some of the new features will be a robotic companion, new worlds, races and PvP areas to battle in. Level caps are raised as well as the new ability for new padawans or sith younglings to play up to level 15 for free. This game is truly letting the player pursue their own Star Wars story.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter:

Call of Duty watch out it seems as if the new entry of the Medal of Honor series has learned from its previous endeavors. With fast game play, and the Frostbite 2 engine from the Battlefield 3 game released in 2011 this game seems to have it all. Medal of Honor: Warfighter even has the slow motion entry breaches found in Call of Duty and a lot of other military shooters players have come to love. This game is looking as it is coming to life with the animations and detailed environments. Did we mention that the trailer also depicted a Wall-e badass straight from the Disney/Pixar movie? Medal of Honor now has drivable robots with a .50 cal’s attached. Warfighter is set to go up against some of the greatest when it comes out on October 23rd.

FIFA 13:

Soccer or as a proper fan would call it… Football fans can now rejoice the whole world will be able to watch you and your team from FIFA 13. This of course is by participating in tournaments found on what EA Sports calls “social network in itself.” Which in fact it is being one of the most popular sports titles in the world you can only imagine the sheer excitement found from the UK to Brazil and 100′s of other countries. FIFA has been noted as the biggest sports game in the world so any news related to the game is sure to cause more than just a little stir. With FIFA 13 around the corner fans will be pleased to know that returning players that have leveled up their characters in past FIFA games will have their experience points carried over to the new game, along with the way they finished the season will be the way they start the next and so much more. FIFA is taking steps to make it better than the best title it has already been named.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted:

The racing genre has been on the decline on consoles recently but criterion games seems to be trying to eliminate that trend. With a new Need for Speed game named after previous hit, Need for Speed: Most Wanted has been officially announced. The team looks to have incorporated a lot of the collision detail found in the Burnout games as well as other elements that we have seen in the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. On a high plus side the game seems to be taking notes from the previously released Need for Speed titles, the good ones. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is taking the game and making the player try and achieve the most wanted status among their friends. The only thing that is concerning about the information we were given at the press conferences is the ‘friends’ portion. We hope that this game focuses enough attention on a single player story and game play then beating your friends on the leader boards. Odds are not all your friends will buy this game anyway… Expect the getaway chases to start this October for a fall release.

Crysis 3:

Crytek continues to raise its baby know as Crysis with its 3rd installment in the series. The prophet is back in Manhatton immersing gamers in a destroyed city; with military as well as aliens trying to riddle the super soldier’s body. The game rivals some of the best games on PC’s and Consoles. The prophet has set a release date of February 2013 which is ironic seeing as most of the games being released around that time. The month of February is going to be huge for EA and with Crysis 3 in the line up now we cannot wait until February.

EA wrapped up the press conference and put on a good show. Remember if you have any questions place them in the comment box below, we would love to answer them at the show!
