Gaming’s 3 Most Annoying Characters

AnnoyingCharacter Featured

Over the years in gaming there have been a lot of really cool characters that players can’t get their minds off of and then there are those characters that are just so annoying the players don’t even want to pick up some of their favorite games. When a player gets a hold of a really good game its likely they will get hooked and play that game for hours on end, however, there is one major issue that could change that addiction and force players to set down these hot titles and never want to pick them up again; annoying characters! There’s a slew of games out there that have characters that make players just want to rip their hair out but which of these characters take that annoyance to the next level?

Amy Rose- Sonic

Sonic has raced his way into player’s hearts around the world. People of all ages fell in love with this crime fighting hedgehog but he isn’t the problem one of his fellow teammates is… Amy Rose. Amy Rose has a high pitched voice, irritating attitude, and is completely obsessed with Sonic. A game like Sonic doesn’t really need a “love interest” storyline especially one that is as annoying as the relationship between him and Amy Rose. Although she has a bright cherry attitude her emotions and overly cheerfulness just come across far more irritating than it needs to be. All in all, she is a character that can really get annoying and she really doesn’t add a whole lot of fun into Sonic games. What can we say, she’s a classic and she’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Cole Phelps- LA Noir

Detective Cole Phelps was the protagonist of LA Noir. The funny thing about Cole is there is no logical explanation as to why he is so annoying. Phelps has been one of those characters that were wrongly placed in a great game. One of the only bad points about LA Noir was Cole, but having an annoying character in a great game can really damper the whole experience. Phelps was annoying from the way he spoke, to the way he moved to those confusing decisions he made. To this day it is unknown why Phelps got on so many players nerves, but he did. Looking back at LA Noir as a whole, it can be said the game was greatly enjoyed; however, players had to put caps on how much Cole Phelps they could take in a single sitting of playing the game.

Zimos- Saints Row: The Third

One of the most annoying characters of all times comes from one of the video game industries lightest hearted franchises. Zimos was a Pimp who has first appeared in Saints Row: The Third. The most annoying thing about him is that he only speaks in auto-tune. In every aspect of the game that Zimos appears in he is speaking so out of the ordinary that he is nearly impossible to understand over gun fire and police sirens. The character could have been a cool, funny pimp however with the way he speaks he is impossible to love. This was a character with all the possibilities in the world but was just executed in the complete wrong way.
