So with all the uproar on the ending of Mass Effect 3 and fans not being happy with… any of the endings, Bioware has announce the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut. This will be a free DLC add on, so it goes to show you, if you complain enough about something as a community you might just get it… but then again that is Bioware, not Epic Games, oh I’m sorry I was typing out loud again, I have got to stop that. Also regarding my previously stated opinion on the Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco, I am still very much looking forward to this DLC.
This Extended Cut FREE DLC will expand upon the Mass Effect 3, events nearing the end of the game, giving us additional epilogue scenes, more general insight on matters and much more clarity to the final endings of Mass Effect 3. So we still don’t really know if the ending will be changed, it could be very possible that Bioware is just spoiling future DLC or another game due to all the complaints about the ending.
Bioware Co-Founder, Ray Muzyka states “We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect 3 and the work done by Casey Hudson and team…Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding. With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team’s artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe.” Executive Producer, Casey Hudson went on to say “We have re-prioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player”. Full press release below.
Now with all this going on Mass Effect 3 has multiplayer that is being played non stop with weekly events going on, in case anyone it to busy to see. They have had a 2x experience week, a community brute massacre and a promote class community event. Each of these community events gets you one pack for relying on the community and another for doing something specific, often giving you VERY RARE weapons for multiplayer. In case you are wondering why you have not received the last pack for the event where promoting 2 characters gets you a rare pack with an N7 weapon along with another pack for the community promoting a certain number of characters which took place last week, the reason is that Bioware is aware of a glitch that can give you multiple packs online for free. Until they fix the issue they won’t release the packs that everyone should get. Some people did get the packs, but they were quickly taken down to fix the issue. Meanwhile you will be able to earn double XP from April 6th to the 8t for yet another event. While on the subject these packs do not last long on the online store, so if you are not playing multiplayer (or at least checking the store), you are missing out on A LOT of stuff.
