Video games have been a lasting trend for so many years. Before online gaming was around it was a lot less likely to know a gamers identity, gender or age if they were outside of your immediate group of friends. Now with online gaming being all the rage you meet other gamers… hundreds of other gamers… every week. When you plug in your headset to talk to your fellow comrades it may come to a surprise that a high pitch squeaky voice come blasting into your ear. You will run into a lot of kids playing games online despite ESRB or Pegi ratings. So has the thought ever occurred to you that you might be getting a bit old to be spending your spare time playing video games?
Despite what kids or the non-gaming public might think; you are never too old to game! I have been in all too many games were it wasn’t the kid who was being picked on but the older people in the party who were being harassed. It’s sad to think about being too old for a favorite hobby but that doesn’t mean anyone should feel bad for playing if they are out of the general age category. Take a look around, you will see the Nintendo Wii in senior centers across the nation. It doesn’t take a kid to appreciate the art of gaming despite what your girlfriend, sister, or coworker might think. Always remember despite your age you can be a gamer, it’s a fun hobby for everyone!
